Larry Veal: Making Your Life Count

The third time was the charm when you remember the good times had with Mr. Larry Veal. Most would think that being the last to speak would make one very nervous. But when you can identify with young people like Larry Veal can it doesn't give you a moment's pause. Veal, motivational speaker, comedian, and actor combines his numerous talents to reach his chosen audience. This wasn't very hard when after the first 5 minutes the youth and adults were completely captivated. Larry's message this year was 'Making Your Life Count'. Veal tapped into his talent by using humor, props (smoke, music, articles of clothing), and his own real life experiences to explain to the youth and adults present that every minute of your life is important and the choices you make will define the person you become. Mr. Veal reached his target audience with no problems. When he asked a question hands raised around the room. One youth present described Veal's message as the most beneficial activity because "'some teenagers don't care about their life, because they don't have a role model." Another youth stated, "He [Veal] made me learn a lot of things, his stories made me cry and he was a lot of fun and loved his dance." After Mr. veal completed his segment the applause was thunderous.
